One of the most important commercial, financial, industrial and communications centers of China. In this seminar we will visit multinational companies and attend conferences by important Chinese lecturers. While visiting Shanghai you will be a witness to how the giant China perpetuates her ancestral culture and how Chinese society is going through social, political and economic transformations that are leading and changing the course of the entire world.

This seminar will provide a brief, yet useful window into the development and fast growing economy of Dubai.
The main difference of Dubai and the other members of the UAE is that revenues from oil account for only 6%
of its gross domestic products. A majority of the emirate's revenues are from the Jebel Ali Free Zone and
increasingly from Tourism.
Course Grade based On: Participation, and integrative report.
Visits and Activities: Bastakiya,Palm Islands and the World, Jumeirah and Grand Mosque, and the
famous Souks (markets).

This seminar provides a hands-on opportunity to hear, see and do international business in one of the most dynamic and influential countries in the world, China. The course will focus on business practices resulting from cultural, social, economic, political, technological and regulatory dimensions that have an impact on trade and market developments.
Course Grade Based On: Participation, group presentation and 2 page written report.
Other Visits and Activities: IBM, Destry’s, Chinavest, Louis Dreyfus Commodities China, Xian Janssen Pharmaceutical (Family of Johnson & Johnson) as well as cultural visits to Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square and the Great Wall.

This course is designed to provide managers the analytical tools and frameworks for understanding the European business environment. The course will help students to appreciate and understand the maze of “rules of the game” that defines the European business environment in order to be successful therein. The course deals with the political, social, and economic contexts in which business activities take place in Europe. In order to succeed as managers, knowledge of political, social, cultural, economic, business, and regional economic factors is required, both across the European landscape and within the countries that comprise the region.
Course Grade Based On: Attendance, participation and a two page integrative paper.
Other Visits & Activities: CzechINVENT, Avia Ashok Leyland Motors, GE Aviation as well as a cultural visit to Kutna Hora, one of oldest medieval and most traditional cities in the Czech Republic
